Having vast and diverse territory renowned for its historical legacy, interesting culture and traditions, the Kyzylorda Oblast is an attractive tourist object. It is potential for developing numerous kinds of tourism: cultural, educational and sport. The Oblast participates in the implementation of the State Programme by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Revival of Silk Way Historical Centres, Prevention and Successive Development of Cultural Legacy of the Turk States, Creation of Tourist Infrastructure. 123 service enterprises of small business are located along the Kyzylorda section of the Silk Way: 2 hotels, 54 gas-filling stations, 19 maintenance stations, and 48 public catering establishments. As of 1 March 2006, there are 3 active tourist firms in the Oblast, namely Infrakos RSE in Baikonur, Sayakhat LLP and Korkyt-tour in Kyzykorda. There was developed the tourist route Syr-Yelim from Turkistan to the Aral Sea. The Business and Industry Department of the Kyzylorda Oblast was established pursuant to the resolution of the Akimat Kyzylorda Oblast No. 227 dated 10 December 2004.
