ON OCCASION OF THE INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR OF KAZAKHSTAN ASTANA-LEISURE 2009
On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I would like to welcome the exhibitors and visitors of the 6th Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair in Astana – Astana Leisure 2009!
This event is extremely significant for Kazakhstan since tourism has been recognised as playing a major part in facilitating economic development.
It is fortunate that the exhibition coincides with the 18th Session of the General Assembly of the UNWTO.
For the sixth time, Astana is playing host to the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair, Astana Leisure 2009, demonstrating the capacity for tourism in all the regions of Kazakhstan and introducing domestic and foreign tourism companies. The exhibition is focused on the development of inbound and outbound educational, ecological and business tourism, as well as winter sporting attractions.
I am confident that the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair, Astana Leisure will become an important event and a traditional meeting place for professionals in this industry, facilitating the expansion and reinforcement of business and cultural relations, helping to build relations and mutual understanding between domestic and international companies, and attract ever increasing numbers of tourists and travellers from all over the world.
